The SNEAPPA Board of Directors consists of the following elected positions: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Past-President and six Directors, one from each state and up to three At-Large members. Elections are held every other year at the summer meeting. Below are the current Board member positions with a brief description of the position responsibilities. Term: Elected to hold office for a one-term period of two years

Duties:

  • Presides over all meetings of the Chapter and of the Board of Directors
  • Supervises and directs the affairs of the Chapter, including agenda development for chapter-related business
  • Selects the members of Standing Committees within SNEAPPA and appoints the Chairperson(s)
  • Ensures the Board meets a minimum of two times annually, and as required; conducts monthly conference calls; coordinates annual board retreat, as needed
  • Solicits and contributes articles for the chapter’s website quarterly
  • Serves as a member of the ERAPPA Chapter Affairs Committee and ERAPPA Nominating Committee. Recommends appointments to ERAPPA committees

  • ERAPPA Committee Conference Calls, as necessary

Term: Elected to hold office for a one-term period of two years

Duties:

  • Assists the President in his/her duties and carries out President’s duties in his/her absence
  • Is Vice President of the Board of Directors and an ex-officio member of all Standing Committees. Appoints any sub-committees from Standing Committees and designates Chairperson, as necessary
  • Sets up locations and programming for the three SNEAPPA Business Meetings of the upcoming year
  • Reviews the Bylaws and Constitution of the Chapter and recommend changes
  • Maintains the semiannual meeting history database on the chapter web site
  • Solicits and/or contributes articles for the chapter’s website, as needed

General Requirements for Position:

  • Monthly SNEAPPA Board Conference Calls

Term: Elected to hold office for a one-term period of two years

Duties:

  • Provides and maintains all SNEAPPA payables and receivables, checkbook reconciliation, funds disbursements, tax-related filings
  • Incumbent must be bonded, by name, within ninety (90) days of election
  • Responsible for all crime/event insurances
  • Provide and distribute annual Treasurer’s report to membership at Spring Chapter Business Meetings
  • Annual electronic filing to State on record to maintain incorporation status
  • Solicits and/or contributes articles for the chapter’s website, as needed

General Requirements for Position:

  • Monthly SNEAPPA Board Conference Calls

Term: Elected to hold office for a one-term period of two years

Duties:

  • Responsible for taking and distributing minutes of all membership meetings, Board meetings, and conference calls
  • Prepares SNEAPPA certificates of merit and/or appreciation
  • Handles all official Chapter correspondence/notices concerning same to include scholarship acceptance/non-acceptance, completion, reimbursement forms and travel policy information
  • Maintains up-to-date roster of member institutions
  • Informs membership about the Board Nomination process prior to February 1st of an election year. Forward nominations received through this process to the nominating committee no later than 30 days prior to the Summer elections
  • Solicits and/or contributes articles for the chapter’s website, as needed
  • Performs other supportive duties as assigned by the President

Term: Appointed by the President for a one-term period of two years

Duties:

  • Maintains/updates chapter website with contract website development partner per direction of President and SNEAPPA Board
  • Represents SNEAPPA within the ERAPPA Technology Committee
  • Collaborates with other Chapter technology representatives to identify/coordinate/enhance the mission and work of APPA, ERAPPA and the local chapters through technology, as needed (i.e., databases, mailing lists, communications, etc.)
  • Solicits and/or contributes articles for the chapter’s website, as needed
  • Maintains/updates ERAPPA Annual Meeting website and on-site technology requirements during local chapter hosting of ERAPPA Annual Meeting every nine years

Term: Appointed by the President for a one-term period of two years

Duties:

  • Maintains current membership list/working with State Representatives
  • Retains and recruits engaged institutions
  • Provides education to individual members/business partners
  • Represents SNEAPPA within the ERAPPA Membership Committee
  • Follows up on members that do not renew or have less involvement
  • Supports education for the scholarship process
  • Welcomes new members
  • Solicits and/or contributes articles for the chapter’s website, as needed

General Requirements for Position:

  • Chapter Board Meetings two times per year (minimum)

Term: Appointed by the President for a one-term period of two years

Duties:

  • Collaborates with SNEAPPA President and Board on attracting new institutions to host committee capacity
  • Oversees the SNEAPPA Process Book with updates and dissemination to future host committees
  • Seeks new, innovative and pertinent educational programs to benefit the SNEAPPA membership
  • Solicits and/or contributes articles for the chapter’s website, as needed
  • Represent SNEAPPA on the ERAPPA Professional Development Committee
  • Optional: Provide support to Chapter Host Committees for CEU certified

General Requirements for Position:

Term: As President, liaises with ERAPPA Board throughout his/her one-term period of two years

Duties:

  • Represents the interests of the local chapter to the member chapters of ERAPPA
  • Apprises the ERAPPA Board of the activities of the chapter
  • Provides candidate nominations to support the annual ERAPPA election each fall
  • Collaborates with other Chapter Presidents to drive the mission and work of APPA and ERAPPA to the local chapters
  • Collaborates and shares ideas with other Chapter Presidents to lend assistance where and when needed
  • Hosts an ERAPPA Annual Meeting every nine (9) years

Welcoming peers and business partners from the Eastern Region of the US and Canada, agendas are uniquely crafted with relevant educational content, a vibrant exhibition hall showcasing products and services tailored to campus life, and opportunities to network and exchange ideas with colleagues across the region.
